We are an Ashkenazi, Modern Orthodox synagogue, but our community includes a wide range of observance and family customs, from Haredi to secular and everything in-between. All are welcome to daven with us.

Most people use the ArtScroll Ashkenaz siddur, but we also have Koren Ashkenaz, Edot Hamizrach, and Nusach Ari siddurim available. CKI services are primarily led by layleaders, so the melodies and nuschaot may vary.

Our men’s and women’s sections are equally spacious, and are separated by a beautiful lace mechitza. Check out our photo gallery to see how our davening space is organized.

Come in whatever clothing you are comfortable with, whether that be athleisure, business casual, or the traditional formal “shul clothes.” We only ask that you refrain from wearing revealing while visiting CKI.

CKI is a friendly and warm community. Come prepared to be welcomed, spoken with, and invited back for a future Shabbat or holiday meal!

No, you do not need to be a member to attend CKI. All are welcome to join us for davening, kiddush lunches, and any other programming.

However, we rely on donations and membership dues to continue running. Maintaining our century-old historic building and offering accessible, inclusive, and welcoming programming for the Brooklyn community costs approximately $100,000 each year. Please consider investing in CKI’s future by becoming a member and including CKI in your annual giving.
